In response to this, I give you these.  They are from ALDO, and although they are not that cheap, I think they are a wise investment.  The heel is good and the look is classic - no slouching or ankle-bootiness - so I hopefully will be wearing them next year and the year after that. Now to track down a store that has them. I’ve learned my lesson from online shopping. I must try them on first.
